Entitlement, Vacations, and Analytics
God, I hate Mondays.
I’m currently writing this while I am (attempting) to work. Last week I was on vacation as I was burnt out at work, and I’m currently buying a house. Inspections are fun. Shelling out a lot of money for a house that isn’t even mine yet is fun. But that’s a first world problem.
One of the only benefits of this COVID-19 pandemic, and I am being mildly sarcastic, is that I have the ability to work from home. COVID sucks. My mother had it. My Roomaister had it. I had it. One of my old colleagues died from it. It’s awful. But, I get to work from home under a blanket and in my pajamas. 2020 was weird. 2021 has already been weirder. It’s not even February yet.
On a different note – I figured out how to set up analytics last night when this website went live. Like I’ve said numerous times now, I doubt this blog will ever receive thousands of hits a day – but I would like to know if it has. I visited the website a few times yesterday, which Matomo picked up. This morning I checked it, and I got a few hits from Pennsylvania. I find that interesting. Probably web crawlers. I could be wrong though.
I’ve worked in insurance and customer service since I was in high school, and people’s entitlement never ceases to amaze me. I want to stress that I do not work in health insurance. You couldn’t pay me enough to do that. I despise calling my insurance company when I actually need them. I hemorrhage money for a living. I’ll probably dedicate a rant to that in the future.
On the bright side, work went to hell since I left for vacation. I clean up after everyone on a daily basis. Not being here for a week, it’s awful.
