Being an adult sucks
Yikes. It’s been a bit since I have posted here.
The last fourteen days have been an absolute nightmare. I will try to remain as legible as possible, as there is a lot of information. Though, the real question is, where the hell do I begin?
The Roommaister and I have finally made it into our new house, though we have not even closed yet. After a lot of arguing, we finally got an early possession agreement from the sellers. The Roommaister goes for surgery tomorrow morning and will be out of commission for probably a month. We were slated to close last Friday and that obviously hasn’t happened.
We were also supposed to close, again, tomorrow. That is not happening either. I am now being quoted that we will close “early next week,” which has been stated numerous times. I have seen better communication from toddlers. You would think that a prominent bank would have their shit together. But they do not.
In addition to this, I found out that the appraiser “did his job” in January. It is now March. It took him almost two months to realize that a data plate was missing from the home, which has ultimately delayed the hell out of this process. Once we’re closed, I am tempted to call him and rip his ass. The seller’s, who showed up abruptly at my home late at night, informed me that their name was misspelled on the deed when they purchased the property.
Because of their failure to pay attention to their own spelling, they were unable to submit the paperwork to my bank. This makes sense, but how the hell did they not catch this? It’s human nature to ensure that their name is spelled correctly on a LEGAL document. So now THEY are delaying this process which is annoying the living hell out of me.
Then, today to my absolute fury, was sent another disclosure agreement for the house. For those that do not know, a disclosure agreement informs all parties what charges are applicable and how much is owed at the time of closing. Over the last two weeks, the cash required to close has increased. For absolutely no reason.
Over the course of sixty days, I have made this sound conclusion about the idiots I am working with. They are unable to communicate with anyone, including me, and are pulling numbers out of their ass. I will say it again: I have seen toddlers communicate better.
Kids: Being an adult SUCKS. Do not keep wishing to “Grow up” quicker. I’d give anything to go back to high school.
